AM and PM Skincare Routine
We have the perfect skincare routine broken down for even the newest of skincare beginners!

Have you ever wondered what the best skincare routine is to keep your skin looking its best? With so many steps and products out there, it can be hard to know where to begin. But don’t worry—we have the perfect skincare routine broken down for even the newest of skincare beginners!

As you start, it is totally okay to pick and choose the steps of the routine that you want to try out first. Remember, this routine is for YOU and YOUR skin's needs!

Step 1: Cleansing

The first step in any good skincare routine is cleansing. Cleansing helps remove dirt, makeup, sweat, and other impurities from the skin’s surface. It’s important to choose a gentle cleanser that won’t strip away natural oils and leave your skin feeling dry and tight.

A good rule of thumb is to choose a cleanser with a pH level around 5.5—this will help maintain the skin’s protective barrier while still effectively removing impurities.

Step 2: Exfoliating

Exfoliating helps get rid of dead skin cells that can clog pores and lead to breakouts. It also helps improve circulation in the skin, giving it a healthy glow!

You can use a physical exfoliant like an exfoliating scrub or a chemical exfoliant such as an AHA/BHA serum or face mask twice a week for best results. Just be sure not to overdo it, as too much exfoliation can cause irritation and dryness!

Step 3: Toning

Toning helps restore balance to the skin after cleansing. They help remove any last traces of dirt or makeup that may have been missed during cleansing. Toners containing active ingredients like witch hazel or glycolic acid which help exfoliate dead skin cells and reduce inflammation.

A toner should be applied after cleansing with a cotton pad or directly with your hands, depending on what type of toner you are using.

Step 4: Serums & Treatments

Serums and treatments are great for targeting specific skincare concerns like wrinkles, dark spots, acne, etc. Serums are usually lightweight and contain higher concentrations of active ingredients than moisturizers or creams do.

Treatments can include masks, peels, spot treatments and more – all designed to give your skin an extra boost of hydration or nutrients. Both should be used after toning but before moisturizing for maximum effectiveness!

Step 5: Moisturizing

Moisturizing is essential for keeping your skin hydrated and protected from environmental stressors like pollution or sun exposure. Choose a moisturizer based on your skin type (normal/oily/dry) – those with oily or combination skin should look for lighter formulas like gel-based creams while those with dry skin should opt for heavier creams containing ceramides or hyaluronic acid.

Be sure to apply your moisturizer within three minutes of showering – this will help lock in moisture better!

Step 6: Sunscreen

No matter what time of year it is, sunscreen should always be part of your daily skincare routine. Sunscreen protects your skin from harmful UV rays which can lead to premature aging as well as sunburns or worse – cancer!

Look for non-comedogenic formulas with at least SPF 30 (higher if you plan on being outside for long periods of time). And don’t forget to reapply every few hours if you’re spending time outdoors.

Step 7: Lip Balm

Last but not least is lip balm – this one may seem obvious but it’s often overlooked in favor of other products. Lip balm helps keep lips hydrated (especially in colder months) while also protecting them from chapping caused by windy days or cold weather conditions outside.

Be sure to choose one with SPF 15+ if possible – this will provide extra protection against UV rays while still keeping lips soft all year round. If this is your nighttime routine, then an overnight lip mask can do the trick as well!

Now if this is still too much for you and you want to make it EVEN MORE simple, shrink this skincare routine down to the three most essential steps: Cleansing, Moisturizing, and Sunscreen.
