Beauty and fashion move with the seasons bringing with a wave of the hottest makeup trends that get their second in the spotlight before vanishing or stand the test of time and become a part of the makeup routine checklist. Keep reading to find your favorite trends of the seasons!

The word "trend" is most associated with ideas that are "in style" for a while before disappearing for good or for decades till it's revamped and reintroduced. While they are always fun to try, today's focus is filtered down on the most stable and seasonally re-embraced trends that are the worth spending on and learning of. You're welcome.

The Blush

e.l.f. Cosmetics Camo Liquid Blush (Peachy Perfect/Dusty Rosé)

Peachy Perfect is the true peach formula but Dusty Rosé is a peachy rose that shows up best on my skin.

With winter in the rear and spring cruising through with summer calling shotgun, color is back on the table. The trend that perhaps compliments the spring bloom the most in the blush trend. Rather than confining the blush to a coin sized portion on the apples of the cheeks, we are seeing blush color almost the entirety of the mid-face section - ear to ear and over the bridge of the nose. It's a much loved trend that makes a reappearance every spring and summer and this time is no different.

Dewy & Fresh

Saie Glowy Super Gel Lightweight Dewy Multipurpose Illuminator

e.l.f. Cosmetics Power Grip Dewy Setting Spray

To match the seasons' light and fresh vibe comes a dewy, fresh and light look. We're see concoctions of lightweight glow products replacing the mattifying as heavy foundations are by skin tints serums and creams. The skin is allowed to peak through and breathe from under the makeup. Add a blush of lip color or glossy lips to complete the look. Niche trends like "your skin but better", "no makeup makeup look", and "dewy skin" are some of the more popular takes on this trend.

Dolled Up Glass Skin & More

Glass skin is a buzzfeed in the skincare industry, but its most recent surge of fame came in from celebrity makeup artist Pat McGrath when she turned models' skin into what looked like dolls with glassy skin, rosy cheeks, and soft lips that mirror inspirations from the K-Beauty Trends. Add on some lip gloss for a face fully-glossed over - the ultimate "polished skin" look.

Saie's Glowy Super Gel works great for a glass skin base paired with the Supergoop! Protec(tint) mentioned below.

Neutrals

We're talking monochromatic makeup, nude lips, a face-full of bronze, cool tones all round, and more. The monochrome look this year is popping up in multiple categories with neutrals here to stay for the classic and coveted day time glam look or work makeup look. Often seen with nude lips and the same tones of basic neutral browns, white, creams and off-whites dancing over the face pulling for an understated elegance. The upcoming summer adds warmth to this trend with a warm bronzed over glow.

Laminated Eyebrows

The brow gel is been a makeup vanity-staple for years now and its value on the vanity just got boosted with the strong return of the laminated eyebrows. The benefit brow gel comes to mind and for good reason since we've all been seeing it in every beauty lovers' recent TikTok must-haves. A few quick strokes for lightly colored gel to add volume and set, and you're done the trend.

Peach

The 2024 Pantone color is Peach Fuzz. It's only fitting that this color is making big waves in the beauty industry. Peach found its fame in the makeup like never before in 2023 and its almost as if everyone has been waiting for spring and summer to come around again just as an excuse to pull out the all peach products with brands already launching peach blushes and highlights at the first appropriate spring day possible. This spring and summer, we're sure to see peach monochromatic makeup, peach blush trend, peach everything.

The e.l.f. blush above or really any perfect shade from eyeshadow to lip gloss to blush fits in this trend.

Berry

There is nothing that compliments the warmth of the seasons and the bronzed glow of skin than a flush of berry on the skin. Whether it be a dollop on the cheek or a soft blend from ear to ear, the berry color creates a universally flattering look that brings out the beauty in every skin tone that wears it. As such, its no surprise that the berry look has made it yet another year.

Any product that is a peachy pink to a true berry works well in this trend.

Sun-Kissed

Milani Cheek Kiss Cream Bronzer (Spilling Tea)

As neutrals receive winter's praise, there is nothing that rivals the warm welcome of the summer like the coveted bronzed, sun-kissed look. And with makeup artists and brands launching some game-changing, smooth formulas, there's something for everyone to bronze skin. For the summer, a personal favorite is the cream bronzer that allows for a warm makeup base. (Run some product along the top and button lash line for a brown shadow affect that matches the your base.)

Chromes & Rhinestones

Most often used and seen at music festivals, the predicted trend shows chrome eyes and rhinestones making its way out into the real world to add to the color-embracing beauty routine of the seasons. Think subtle sprinkles of glitter or shine to the eyes or a dot of rhinestone in the inner or outer corner of the eye.

Minimalist Makeup

Supergoop! Protec(tint) Daily SPF Tint SPF 50 Sunscreen Skin Tint with Hyaluronic Acid and Ectoin

A product that can be used in multiple ways and therefore reduces the number of products you need to carry is the ideal pick for your minimal makeup collection. An SPF combined with the powers of a skin tint is exactly that.

The minimal makeup trend is shown a lot of love this time of year. It's travel-friendly, beginner-friendly, and just overall friendly in that it accommodates so many of the trends of the seasons. A simple set of products including a good primer, a lightweight yet heat and sweat resistant skin tint, a cream or liquid blush, cream bronze, setting powder, a brown waterproof eyeliner that can double for eye makeup and a lip pencil, mascara, and setting spray (one dewy and one matte) - all in mini versions for travel convenience. Blush and bronze can be used on the eyes and lips to pull together an monochromatic, ombré look.

One of the best parts about beauty and fashion is trying out all the trends that come with it. From the best method for covering dark circles to testing out the most creative of the latest blue makeup trends, there's always something new and innovative in the industry. Let's face it, after a few months of winter basics, which we of course loved for the time being, we're ready mix it up with some color, glow, and bronze to name few trends. The best part is that you can re-purpose your products to get the look without breaking the bank because these aren't exactly entirely new and unheard of makeup applications. Try out a few and find your favorite spring and summer looks.
